Baghdad Peace Ceremony

On June 22, 2002, a peace ceremony was held in Baghdad, Iraq in order to celebrate the end of the war in Iraq. Over 20 countries took part in this war which continued for 10 years, and over 10 million people died.

The presidents of each country who took part in the ceremony, President Mihiro from Japan said, “The war is over. Today is memorial day for us. We must continue to live in peace forever. ” The audience erupted into applause. After that, a lot of pigeons, which was a sign for peace, were set off. This speech was broadcasted all over the world.


This ceremony was in big success.
