Japanese remembers Tokyo subway’s sarin gas attack 19 years ago
By Margaret, 3 April 2014

Tokyo - On March 20, 1995, sarin gas attacked on subway trains passing through Kasumigaseki and Nagatacho, home to the Japanese government.
This act of the terrorism was performed by members of Aum Shinrikyo, a religious cult. Their attempt was to bring down the government and install the group’s founder - Shoko Asahara, who was respected as a god by his followers - as the emperor of Japan.
They brought sarin packets produced in their laboratory, releasing them on the crowded train cars.
This chemical killer gas killed thirteen people and injured nearly one thousand people at the peak of the morning rush hour. It is one of the most serious attacks occurred in Japan.

Margaret,

Thank you for your article - well done! There are a few corrections to be made:

  1. Your title suggests that Japan is remembering this attack, but you don't mention the remembrance in your article... Why is Japan remembering this attack now, 9 years later?
  2. I have highlighted words or phrases that are vague or awkward.
  3. I have underlined words that are redundant.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

At midnight on March 3, 2014, (Hiroya Ikema >< 31-year-old) was killed on the street in Kashiwa, Chiba Prefecture, Japan. Two days later, (Seiju Takei >< 24-year-old) was arrested on suspicion of fatally stabbing Hiroya Ikema who lived in the same apartment building.

According to police, Takei didn’t know Ikema, and he wanted to rob people of money. Police had already found a knife which Takei used when he attacked Ikema that night. Takei was cooperating with their interrogation but he hadn’t apologized for his act.
“I’m glad that the case has been solved so quickly.” People who live near that place were eased listening his arrest.

Police keeps the interrogation with Takei to resolve this affair.

  2. I have crossed out unnecessary phrases
  3. I have made the phrases purple that need to be changed because they are vague or awkward.
  4. I have highlighted the article errors (ie. a, an, the).
  5. I have added ( ____ >< ____ ) where the order needs to be switched.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
